Joey Makes the Big Leagues
Well Joey Thatcher has finally achieved what all of us close to him had hoped he would get a taste of some day. Joe has been playing in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He recieved the notice that he had been traded to the San Diego Padres organization in a three-person trade. Scary enough to be called in to the managers office and think you are being traded after you have spent so long trying to move up in the Brewers organization....but that tradeproved to be quite POSTIVE!
Joe would be dressing on their major league roster and was flown out to San Diego immediately. Since then he has proved himself on their roster. He has shown us that dreams really do come true. I know my family is extremely proud of him and his new position on the Padre roster. Seems like all of Kokomo has become huge PADRE fans, they even started hanging Padre banners in a few of our bars around town! GREAT JOB JOE!!
Scuba Certified
I was jealous of Jonathan for getting to do all the fun with all his scuba diving adventures. Plus we thought it would be a good hobby to have to spend time together and travel around Indiana and the surrounding areas doing it. I got certified through the Diving Den. It was two weekends in a row and not hard at all. I aced all my tests, but what else would you expect from me! Haha. We would LOVE for another couple to get certified with us so we would have some more people to share the hobby with! Here are some pics from my class.
Another Trip to Sin City
We took another trip to Vegas for my brothers 21st in June (a little late, but better late than never) For those that don't know, all the dads in a group of about 6 families always take us kids to Vegas for our 21st. This trip was fun, it was mostly guys, as usual, but very fun. Here is a list of our entourage, me, my bro and dad, Jonathan and his dad, Matt Fox and Graham with their dad, Steph Heltzel and her dad, and Timmy Severns. Timmy gets hooked up with a suite, but he didn't like the location because he figured everyone from the clan would be coming and going at all hours of the night, so he gave me and Jonathan the kick ass suite. It was two floors high, with a hot tub, and mirrored ceilings!

My First Indy 500
I went down with some friends to my first Indy 500. Jonathan was down there with some buds all weekend, but me and Krystal sort of "snuck" down there and camped with our own friends from high school. But what do you know, when we are pulling in to the Coke lot....who do we see....yes Jonathan and Nick walking. Honestly probably the third group of people we see walking! So much for keeping it a secret! I just didnt want him to think I was down there to check up on him. I honestly just wanted to go since I had never been!!! We ended up seeing him a few more times throughout the weekend which was fine. He still got to stay with his guys, and I got to hang out with some friends I don't see often. It poured down rain, but we still had fun, and we even made the Indy paper! Here are some pics!
New Apartment
Looks like I never posted photos of me and Jon's apartment on my blog. We moved in together in the beginning of 2007. It is a two bedroom- two bath apartment. We are located at the back by the woods so we have a nice yard and fire pit behind our place. We have done a lot of painting and minor repairs since we moved in. We both really like it, its the perfect size and hope to stay here until we can find a house. We have looked at a few houses, but haven't had any we have fallen in love with.
Here are some pics...
